COOL KIDS Make Grade for FOX
October 6, 2018 in NEWS, TV/INTERNET
Starring legendary comedians David Alan Grier, Leslie Jordan, Vicki Lawrence and Martin Mull, THE COOL KIDS on FOX Television promises to take us comedy lovers on a joy ride of laughter and fun.
“The Cool Kids” is a comedy about a rowdy, rag-tag group of friends living in a retirement community who are willing to break every rule to have fun, because, at their age, what do they really have to lose?
Hank (David Alan Grier) a gruff, opinionated, 21st-century Archie Bunker who will go to any lengths to have a good time, is the leader of this motley crew. His loyal — but less than helpful — friends include Charlie (Martin Mull ), a bumbling storyteller who constantly goes off on tangents about some bizarre and barely believable episodes from his life; and Sid (Leslie Jordan), a nay-saying, pill-popping hypochondriac who shoots down every scheme but still gets roped in.
Complicating matters is Margaret (Vicki Lawrence), a brash, confident woman who forces her way into their group and refuses to leave because she’s not going to take crap from anyone — especially not these three. But what unites them all is their shared belief that they’re not done yet — not by a long shot. Growing old with dignity is for chumps.

Tracey Ullman’s New 2018 Season !
September 22, 2018 in NEWS
A longtime tv favorite returns with six new episodes of her Emmy®-nominated series September 28th on HBO. Tracey Ullman is back as she brings us a wide variety famous faces and everyday people in the sketch comedy show, which looks at modern life and current social figures through a comedic lens.
Over the course of the new season, Ullman uses her signature brand of sharp satire to shape-shift into a range of public figures and offbeat original characters. She reprises her characterizations of Dame Judi Dench, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Jerry Hall, and introduces her takes on British Prime Minister Theresa May, French First Lady Brigitte Macron and U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, among others.
More topical than ever before, Tracey Ullman satirizes today’s culture, including television’s latest obsession with strong but messy female characters, the future possibilities for smart-home devices, life in a post-Brexit world and the absurdity of the 24-hour news cycle.

Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield) is a good-natured, professional conflict negotiator. When his wife, Gemma (Beth Behrs), gets a job as a school principal in L.A., they move from Michigan with their young son, Grover (Hank Greenspan), unfazed that their new dream home is located in a community quite different from their small town. Their opinionated next-door neighbor, Calvin Butler (Cedric The Entertainer), is wary of the newcomers, certain that the Johnsons will disrupt the culture on the block.
However, Calvin’s gracious wife, Tina (Tichina Arnold), rolls out the welcome wagon; their chipper younger son, Marty (Marcel Spears), thinks the Johnsons could be good for the community; and their unemployed older son, Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney), finds Dave may finally be someone who understands him.
Dave realizes that fitting into their new community is more complex than he expected, but if he can find a way to connect with Calvin, they have an excellent chance of making their new neighborhood their home.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD will premiere Monday, October 1st (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Melissa McCarthy & The Muppets- Happytime Murders
August 25, 2018 in ANIMATION, MOVIES & FILM, NEWS
When the puppet cast of an ’80s children’s TV show begins to get murdered one by one, a former cop, who has since become a private eye, takes on the case.
No Sesame. All Street. THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is a filthy comedy set in the underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human (Melissa McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show.
If you feel that the contemporary cinema isn’t serving up enough dirty-talking puppets to suit your proclivities “The Happytime Murders,” directed by Brian Henson cuss and smoke and have sex to ostensibly comedic effect.
Dirty-talking puppets are nothing new; a history of Vegas entertainments would turn up dozens if not hundreds, and the recent Broadway hit “Avenue Q” has proven that they WORK, or can work. “The Happytime Murders” is an indirect outgrowth of Henson’s “Puppet Up!”…
an improv show that had a prosperous run in, Las Vegas and New York a couple years back. In that show, puppeteers and their puppets presided over a traditional audience-suggestion set, the more outrageous the suggestions the better. So we’ll have to see how this new Muppet movie does at the box offices.
