Ant-Man + Wasp The Big & Small
July 7, 2018 in ANIMATION, MOVIES & FILM, NEWS
In the aftermath of ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to re-balance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
Known as Scott Lang when he’s off duty, the Ant-Man’s superhero career got off to a shaky start. He’s an electrical engineer turned thief turned superhero who doesn’t have a mythology, natural powers or a dramatic original story that can be repeatedly retold for eternity. What he does have is a cool suit that enables him to downsize and scale up while having superhuman strength and allows him to communicate with insects that do his bidding. Sometimes, he hitches a ride on the back of a flying ant.
In this new sequel, “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” is an engaging goof that resists bludgeoning you with bigness and instead settles for good vibes and jokes. Director, Peyton Reed, (Ant-Man-2015, Bring It On, Yes Man), took special care in directing his very first major motion picture sequel. “It was great and a different experience for me mostly because I had never directed a sequel before in my career. I had chances to direct sequels, but I hadn’t been interested. This one, for obvious reasons felt like, okay, there’s a lot more story to tell with these characters that I have a genuine affection and kind of protective feeling about these characters.” said, Reed.
With Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña returning, plus a new set of characters, including Michelle Pfeiffer as the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, Reed says he was in a unique Directorial position to do exactly what he always wanted to do with Ant-Man and the Wasp.

ROBIN WILLIAMS: COME INSIDE MY MIND explores his extraordinary life and career, revealing what drove him to give voice to the characters in his mind. With previously unheard and unseen glimpses into his creative process through interviews with Williams, as well as home movies and onstage footage, this insightful tribute features in-depth interviews with those who knew and loved him, including Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber and his son, Zak Williams.
The documentary underscores what made Williams so unique, ranging from his youthful days in the San Francisco Bay area, to his time in New York at The Juilliard School, to his rocket-propelled fame on TV’s “Mork & Mindy,” to his profound impact on the American cultural landscape. Such career high points as his landmark comedy show at the Metropolitan Opera, his Broadway debut in “Waiting for Godot,” his Academy Award®-winning performance in “Good Will Hunting” and his classic confessional bits about his alcohol and drug issues and 2009 heart surgery capture the spark that made him stand out across four decades in entertainment. Williams’ tragic death in 2014, which revealed he had been suffering from the disease Lewy Body Dementia, left fans around the world heartbroken.
The genius of Robin Williams lay in his ability to make a room, a comedy club, a concert hall or the whole world laugh. Family, friends and film crews often saw a man who wasn’t happy unless everyone else was having a good time – but the dualities Williams embodied were present inside him at all times.

Chris Hardwick’s AMC Talk Show Pulled
June 16, 2018 in NEWS
AMC has pulled Chris Hardwick’s talk show after an allegation of sexual assault from his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra.
“We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years,” said the network in a statement on Saturday. “We take the troubling allegations that surfaced yesterday very seriously. While we assess the situation, Talking with Chris Hardwick will not air on AMC, and Chris has decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.”
In addition, NBC, which is home to the game show ‘The Wall,’ which Hardwick hosts, also said in a statement given to THR Saturday that it is still assessing the situation.
Hardwick has also been removed from his upcoming appearance at KAABOO Del Mar 2018, the annual festival said on Saturday.
“We have made the decision to pull Chris Hardwick from the KAABOO Del Mar 2018 comedy lineup following detailed accusations of substantial abuse,” a statement on their website reads. “KAABOO is an experience dedicated to providing a safe community and fostering an inclusive environment for all of our guests, performing artists and comedians, chefs, visual artists and team members. KAABOO does not condone, and will not tolerate, any type of abusive behavior or harassment. A replacement act for Hardwick will be announced shortly.”
Chloe Dykstra, 29, recently wrote about her painful experience with sexual assault in an emotional first-person essay .
Although she never named her former boyfriend in the essay, certain key details led many fans on Twitter to believe that she was referring to ex-boyfriend Hardwick. The two announced their split in July 2014 via Twitter. Hardwick, went on to later marry actress and heiress, Lydia Hearst in 2016.
In the essay, Dykstra said when she was in her early 20s, she began dating a man almost 20 years her senior who began displaying “controlling behavior,” and “rules were quickly established” within two weeks.
“Terrified to piss him off,” Dykstra said she “did what he said. Including let him sexually assault me. Regularly.”
According to Dykstra, her nights “were expected to be reserved for him, as he had a busy schedule,” which alienated her from her friends. Dykstra also said she was not to have close male friends and was not to drink alcohol, as he was sober.

On Friday, his first set since Kate Spade’s death, the actor admitted just how hard it’s been for him and his family.

“DIETLAND” – AMC Dark Comedy to Premiere
June 1, 2018 in NEWS, TV/INTERNET
Dietland is a wickedly funny and extraordinarily timed satire about Plum Kettle (Joy Nash), a ghostwriter for the editor of one of New York’s hottest fashion magazines Kitty Montgomery (Julianna Margulies).
Strugglingwith self-image and fed up with how she’s treated by her boss and society, Plum sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-awakening. At the same time, everyone is buzzing over news reports about men, accused of sexual abuse and assault, who are disappearing and meeting untimely, violent deaths.
Plum also finds herself in the middle of two factions – one sisterhood who may be responsible for the attacks on male harassers, and the other which preaches female empowerment. She straddles these two groups, trying to make sense of the changing world and her part in it.
Equal parts revenge fantasy and heartfelt journey to self-acceptance, Dietland, which is based on Sarai Walker’s 2015 best-selling critically acclaimed novel of the same name, is a darkly comedic story that explores a multitude of issues faced by women today – including patriarchy, misogyny, rape culture, and unrealistic beauty standards.
