Why “Raven’s Home” is a 90’s Kid’s Dream Come True

When fans of the mother series That’s So Raven first received buzz about a spinoff in the works, a wave of excitement took over social media. Now that Raven’s Home is finally on the air, have you had the chance to sit down and catch up with one of Disney’s most iconic characters? Here’s the top five reasons why you should.
1) Raven and Chelsea are ultimate friendship goals!
This sitcom solidifies what fans already knew; that the friendship between Raven Baxter and Chelsea Daniels is truly unbreakable. Although both of their marriages ended in divorce, the two best friends are now making the best out of life and raising their kids together. It’s both refreshing and exciting to see Raven and Chelsea as adults juggling the challenges of motherhood. Watching them in this whole new element makes you feel like you’ve grown up right along with them as you watch it. Not to mention that neither one of their characters’ personalities have changed at all in the since we’ve last seen them. Even though a decade has passed, it feels as if the show is picking right back up where they left off.
2) The fate of Raven and Devon’s relationship is finally confirmed.
I know I’m not alone here when I say that I always hoped Raven’s relationship with her high school sweetheart, Devon Carter, would stand the tests of time. While the show’s writers did give fans the satisfaction of marrying the two, the union didn’t last. However, the two of them seem to be on overall good terms with each other despite past issues and are able to co-parent just fine.
3) You get to see Raven as a parent!
How could any of us who watched the show ever forget all of the stress Raven put her parents through with her notorious psychic visions? Now it’s her turn at bat to try and deal with the same everyday shenanigans from her own children. Luckily, thanks to her experience with visions of the future and the hilarity that always follows, Raven is more than ready to accept the challenge.
4) It makes you feel like a kid again.
It is impossible to watch this show and not get nostalgic about the glory days of That’s So Raven. Whether you’re having flashbacks of all the trouble Raven used to get into, or just feeling old as you watch her and Chelsea be amazing moms to their kids, Raven’s Home will definitely make you miss your childhood. It’ll also make you wonder what characters from other shows, like Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens are up to now. Before you know it your mind will be trying to predict everybody’s lives from all of your favorite childhood shows.

TUPAC Movie: “All Eyes On Me” – Hit or Miss?

It’s not up for debate that the late Tupac Shakur is one of the most beloved rap icons of all time. After all, the word “rapper”doesn’t even begin to describe him. He was so many things to so many different people. He was a poet. An activist. A revolutionary. A ladies man. The list goes on and on. But above all, he was a voice for those who couldn’t speak up for themselves. So it goes without saying that his biopic was undoubtedly going to be held to a higher standard than others. So now only one question remains: did the film live up to all the expectations and years of anticipation? Or was it nothing more than a flop?
In my opinion, it was somewhere in between.
Let me start off by saying that the cast did an amazing job. It was led by Demetrius Shipp Jr., who was given the honor of portraying Shakur. For this to be his first acting role, playing a world-renowned icon, I think he did amazingly well. He captured a lot of Tupac’s on and offstage charisma, especially in key scenes where it was needed the most.
Danai Gurira, who was cast as Afeni Shakur, was also brilliant and stood out to me on the screen as well. She performed her role with a raw and believable intensity that played off of Shipp’s energy. As a result of the two’s chemistry, the strained but loving relationship between Tupac and his mother was beautifully portrayed.
One relationship that also stood out to me in the film was that of Tupac and Kidada Jones, played by Annie Ilonzeh. Although their engagement was public knowledge to many, it was also a new piece of his life that some of Tupac’s fans didn’t know about. Shipp and Ilonzeh had amazing chemistry, and clearly showed the love that the two had for each other.
Overall, the film has had many mixed reviews with a good amount of both yays and nays. Many who saw the film joked on social media about the use of an iPhone 7 during the film. Jada Pinkett-Smith even stepped in with some criticisms of her own. She said that she was deeply hurt over the “re imagining” of her and Pac’s relationship.
As for my personal take on it, I thought the film was decent. It had a slow start in the beginning and the script could’ve included a few more iconic moments in his career. However, you can’t fit twenty-five whole years of somebody’s life into a two hour movie. The cast was convincing, the story of his rise to fame was well-written, and the soundtrack included a majority of his hit records. Props to the whole crew on a job well done.

Why Fans Are Shook Over T.I. and Tiny’s Split

Over the years, there have always been celebrity couples who’s relationships just seemed to stand out from the rest. From Beyoncé and Jay-Z to Brad and Angelina, fans all over the world gravitated to watching their lives together unfold in the tabloids. Among this group of beloved A-list lovebirds is none other than T.I. and Tiny Harris, who have recently split and filed for divorce after going strong for 15 years.
Since the rumors of trouble in paradise between them first broke out in December of 2016, both the press and fans alike have been digging for the truth. The official dirty details of their split finally aired on the series finale of their hit reality show this past month. Infidelity, as it turned out, was the root cause of the breakup. The unforgettable dinner scene of the two discussing their troubles put out more information than anyone could’ve predicted. Tiny was upset over T.I. sleeping with a girl she hired, while T.I. was riled up over rumors of an alleged hookup between her and Floyd Mayweather, who T.I. has bad blood with.
For those who have been admirers and supporters of the estranged couple, it was a difficult scene to watch. Out of the many toxic reality shows that take up airtime these days, T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle was a much needed and wholesome needle-in-a-haystack. It showed the strength and love it takes to raise a beautiful family. It taught life lessons on being selfless and giving to the ones around you. But most importantly, it gave hope to people who dream of finding and sustaining a quality relationship in today’s society. Now it seems as if a dark cloud of infidelity has swept over the sun that is their family.
Watching the collapse of a beloved family in the industry is an eye opener. It’s teaching all of us many things that we tend to glance over from the outside looking in. It doesn’t matter what the media portrays. Nobody’s relationship is problem-free and money really can’t solve everything. Above all, I think it’s reminded people all over the world that celebrities feel pain the same way the rest of us do. T.I. and Tiny both are hurting over this, and their children are probably hurting over this even more. The best thing that any of their fans watching can do for them is hope for the best regarding their healing process for this. Divorces are messy, and even more damaging to those involved when it’s taking place in the limelight. Let’s just hope things between the two come to an end as peacefully as possible.

Chris Brown & Karrueche Tran Set To Feud In Court

The ongoing tumultuous saga between the two exes continue as Karrueche Tran now pursues a permanent restraining order against Chris Brown. Sadly, it appears that things aren’t going to patch up nicely between the ex-lovers anytime soon. After months of angry exchanges on social media and awkward run-ins, Karrueche looks to have finally had enough. The model/actress is now seeking to take Chris to court and get a permanent restraining order in place. She’s even including her mother and younger brother in the restraining order as well, saying that their safety is also a concern for her.
It seems that getting the restraining order set in place is a matter of life and death. According to Tran, Chris was very violent with her during their five year relationship. She says that he punched her in the stomach,threatened to shoot her and even pushed her down the stairs. Chris has responded to the allegations and claimed that she is lying. However, Karrueche has made it known that she is willing to testify on the stand and swear under oath. That is, if she can even get him in court.
Tran has been desperately trying to serve Brown with legal papers, but he has dodged all three attempts. As a result, the court date has been pushed to March 29th. When the two finally do have their day in court, Karrueche will have an ultimatum ready for Brown; either stay away from her for three years, or serve time behind bars.
It’s no telling how this ongoing saga between these two might end. Hopefully a resolution will be brought to the table soon. Tran’s attorneys spoke out recently, saying that she wants this whole matter put behind her so she can move on with her life. Honestly,who could blame her? This situation doesn’t sound like a walk in the park for either party. Let’s hope a resolution will be found soon before things get any uglier.
