No-holds-barred comedian Lynne Koplitz will be performing at The Treehouse Comedy Club in Westport on Saturday March 30th, just one week after her new Showtime special, Funny Women Of A Certain Age, makes its debut on Showtime. A self-proclaimed lifelong bachelorette, Koplitz offers a woman’s take on being crazy, the benefits of childlessness, dieting, boyfriends and more. This unabashed menopausal New Yorker offers advice to men and comfort to women when dealing with hormones.
Having appeared on several television shows with the legendary Joan Rivers it only seems appropriate that Koplitz dedicated her 2017 Netflix Special Hormonal Beast To Rivers. Her most recent appearances include opening for Louie CK for the better part of 2017 and two shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden. Koplitz also had the honor of opening for Chris Rock in 2018 and appearing in his hit movie, Top Five.
A native of New Yorker, Lynne decided to pursue a career in acting admittedly a bit late in life, at 28. “But, Jesus didn’t start until he was 33!” says Koplitz. Her break into show business came at the urging of a group of friends at a production company where she’d landed a job. They not only insisted that she go into standup comedy, but called around and found the first gig for her at an open-mic night.
Since then, Lynne’s TV credits have blossomed with appearances on Comedy Central Presents: Lynne Koplitz, Gays: The Series, “This Week At The Comedy Cellar, Last Comic Standing and Comedy Underground With Dave Attell.
