HBO Latino® continues to bring the laughs with their latest English-language stand-up comedy special Entre Nos: Spot On, premiering Friday, April 26that 9:00pm ET/PT. Entre Nos: Spot On will air across all of the channel’s platforms including HBO NOW®, HBO GO®, HBO On Demand® and partners’ streaming platforms.
This exclusive, hour-long continuation of HBO Latino’s Entre Nos comedy specials features four of the most exciting, young Latino comedians working today. Join Crystian Ramirez, Vanessa Gonzalez, Rojo Perez, and Erik Rivera as they each take a turn at the mic to share their hilarious, universal stories of life, love and being Latino.
Recorded before a live audience at The Alex Theater in California, Entre Nos: Spot On is an evening of sure-fire entertainment, with comics sharing anecdotes both hilarious and deeply personal. Comedian Crystian Ramirez talks about growing up in Coney Island and how he is shamed by fellow Latino men for having only one girlfriend; Vanessa Gonzalez brings us from adult dirty talk to grade-school name-calling and back; Rojo Perez pokes fun at e-cigarettes, Florida, and himself when he visits family in Puerto Rico; and Erik Rivera discusses getting the seal of approval from his father on his now-wife…who is not Latina. With a uniquely Latinx perspective, Entre Nos: Spot On is much more than a night of antics from some of the funniest folks in comedy: it spotlights people who get the Latino experience… spot on.
Stars of the Show:
Crystian Ramirez
Crystian Ramirez was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. His auto-biographical style allows for comedy audiences to connect with him immediately, whether he is being self deprecating or talking about his roots as a young man growing up on the streets of New York City. Crystian has performed all over the country and can be seen regularly in New York city comedy clubs. He was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and also appeared on Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party.
Vanessa Gonzalez
Vanessa Gonzalez, a native Texan, was voted “Best Stand-up Comic” by the Austin Chronicle. She was one of the New Faces of the 2017 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and subsequently, created and starred in her own web-series “Ms. Vanessa” for Mas Mejor, a digital platform that is part of Lorne Michael’s company Broadway Video. She has performed at a variety of comedy festivals including SXSW, High Plains, Moontower, and Big Sky Comedy Festival, and has toured the country with her critically acclaimed one-woman sketch shows.
Rojo Perez
Originally from Puerto Rico, Rojo Perez made his late night stand up debut on TBS “Conan” in August 2017. Since moving to New York City he has been a cast member on MTV’s Decoded, Rojo was featured on Comedy Central’s Funny ’Cause It’s True, Time Out New York, TruTV’s Comedy Knockout and Univision’s FLAMA. He has also performed at top-tier comedy clubs across the country, such as the Comedy Studio in Boston, the Comedy Club on State in Madison, Cap City Comedy Club in Austin, ACME Comedy Company in Minneapolis, and Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati. In 2016 he was selected as a Standup NBC finalist and has been a part of the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Moontower Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, LA Riot Comedy Festival and Akumal Comedy Festival in Mexico.
Erik Rivera
Since his Late Night debut on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Erik Rivera was invited to perform at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network, and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Rivera has also recorded his debut one hour comedy special, “I’m No Expert,” and starred alongside Brandon T. Jackson and DeRay Davis in Oxygen’s docu-series “Living With Funny” — a look at life off stage for the touring comedians. Recently he co-starred in CBS’s most talked about episode of Superior Donuts, where they tackled the current state of immigration in the United States.
